Carter Tree Farm
A quick drive from Staten Island, Carter Tree Farm is only open on weekends but you’ll have your choice of trees that range in height from 3 to 9 feet. You can either bring your own handsaw or borrow one of theirs, and they’ll even wrap the tree for you so you can get it home easier. Just bring your own rope or tie-downs.
During the fall, Lewin Farms is known for its apple orchard, but in the winter, people from all over New York flock here for their Christmas tree. Open every day but Tuesday during the week, you can find trees up to 15 feet in size, and you can easily rent a saw from them if you don’t have one of your own.
